Motion
The European Youth Parliament:
1 - Recommends flexible educational pathways to combine vocational work and first practical work experience and training to those students who might be demotivated by low academic achievement, specifically:
a) The extension of the professional courses variety with the intention that students may find a course that best fits their own vocation, and the needs of the labour market.
b) The creation of partnerships between colleges and companies, in order to create work spaces to students that recently have graduated from school, as an opportunity to gain work experience in an early stage of their career.
2 - Calls upon the creation of awareness campaigns on the media and in the communities for the students and respective families so that they can keep track and encourage the students’ progress, by the following means:
a) Advertising on media about the alternative courses available to the students;
b) Distributing flyers to the students’ residences.
3- Endorses the enlargement of the compulsory education up to the 12th grade in all the European Union member states.
